#08 WHAT IF we offered treatment programs that were drug specific?
Would addiction treatment protocols be more effective if they were focused on specific substances? We know that different addictions come with their own unique challenges. Alcohol addiction is not the same as opioid addiction. Excessive use of MDMA presents different problems than chronic methamphetamine use. All addictive behavior can be identified by certain commonalities, but are we missing out on understanding more about this condition by lumping everything together?
